Let’s make Brussels greener! On May 23rd, the Hydrology and Hydraulic Engineering (HYDR) Department from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) will be hosting a challenging and unique seminar as part of #EUGreenWeek. Take part in this innovative and hands-on seminar by registering through our website today.
The seminar will be divided into two parts: a morning session where you will see presentations on citizen involvement and Low Impact Development (LID) on flood mitigation, the use of remote sensing in identifying suitable locations for more green spaces and investigating the geothermal potential all in the Brussels Capital Region. There will also be a presentation on the use of combined renewable energy sources for cities. And an afternoon session where there will be a hands-on workshop to introduce you to the newly developed WetSpa-Urban Tool. This Tool enables the user to find the most suitable locations for Low Impact Development (LID) practices using a cost-optimized method.
